Just recently, I have developed a love for the game of golf. I am not very
good, but have some interesting things that have happened... Here is one
of them
It was a bright sunny day at a driving range. I bought my bucket of balls and walked over the area we usually hit from. The only open spot is right beside the net that is used to protect the other golfers that are hitting off the mats. Anyway,,, there is a big wood pillar that is holding the net up.. It is about 20 feet in front of me. I should have known right then and there that this is no place for a guy who is not very good at golf.
I am there with Matthew, Anthony, Booya and Flipper.. Everyone is on their own sections. Matthew and Flipper where just about done when I got there. Flipper was sitting behind Booya (about 2 hitting places down from me.) I am a little bit nervous about hitting the ball with that pillar sitting off to my right. Do I still hit? Oh yea....
I put the ball on the tee... Take my driver... Line up for my swing... I hit the ball and it flies like a rocket, the only bad thing is that it flies straight at the pillar. I didn't even have time to look up and heard a bang. I looked up and saw this white object flying back towards me in slow motion and there was nothing I could do. It flew right by Booya's head and nailed Flipper right on the ankle. I felt awful.. I ran over and checked to see if she was ok... By the time I arrived, it has swollen to about twice the normal size... It looked like a "golf ball"... hahahaha..
It all worked out and she was / is fine.. I guess the moral of the story is never hit a golf ball at a pillar and expect good things to happen...
